A non-resident may take to the U.S., free of duty, gifts totaling $100.00 in value. U.S. citizens and Resident Aliens may take to the U.S., free of duty, articles totaling $400.00 in value. Residents and non-residents may take duty-free no more than one liter of an alcoholic beverage (beer, wine or liquor). You are not allowed to bring into the U.S. fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and meat products.

A dog or cat, which originates rabies-free from Panama, needs a certificate from a Panamanian veterinarian stating the dog/cat is in good health. To exit Panama you will need proper documents from the Panamanian quarantine office.
