EXPANDED HOURS FOR CONSULAR SERVICES

AS OF JULY 20, 2009: To accommodate new hours throughout the Embassy, Consular Services will be offered during the following hours:

American Citizen Services Unit:
Hours of Operation:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon and 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m
Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
The ACS Unit closes Wednesday afternoons for administrative processing and on local and U.S. holidays and Friday afternoons.

Federal Benefits Unit:
Hours of Operation:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon and 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday:  7:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
The Federal Benefits Unit closes Wednesday afternoons for administrative processing and on local and U.S. holidays and Friday afternoons.

Visas:
Interviews for Nonimmigrant visas (NIV) and Immigrant Visas (IV) are by appointment.   
To make an appointment, contact the Banco General at telephone number: 800-5000.  Please apply at least six weeks prior to your scheduled departure.

CHANGE TO BUSINESS HOURS: Hours for applicants for business travelers will change from Wednesday afternoons to Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.  For applicants to be accepted for this special schedule, they must fill out our electronic visa application form (EVAF) and be prepared to present proof as to the nature of their business travel.

CHANGE TO STUDENT HOURS: Hours for applicants for student and cultural exchange visas will be accepted Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
