What's the FBU Mission

The Federal Benefits Unit (FBU) of the American Embassy in Panama assists U.S. citizens, Panamanians, and third country nationals who receives benefits from the Civil Service, Social Security Administration and the Department of Veterans Affairs.  We also assist former employees of the Panama Canal Commision that suffered on the job injuries and receive compensation from the Office of Workers' Compensation Programs under the U.S. Department of Labor.

To obtain information of the services provided, please choose one of the following agencies:

Hours of Operation:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 7:30 am - 12:30 pm and 1:30 - 3:00 pm
Wednesday: 7:30 – 12:00 noon
Friday: 8:00 – 10:00 am

Location:
The FBU is located in the U.S. Embassy Consular Section, Building 783, Demetrio Basilio Lakas Avenue, Clayton.

Parking 
Due to security concerns, we are no longer able to offer parking inside the Embassy compound.  Consular visitors will need to find parking in the lot located immediately outside of the Embassy compound.
