Public Affairs Section
The Public Affairs Section manages press, culture and education activities for the United States Embassy in Panama. The Section consists of the Press Office, the Cultural Office and the Information Resource Center.
The Press Office is in charge of all interactions between the Embassy and mass media, including journalists from Panama, United States, other countries and international agencies. This section handles the organization of press conferences, informative sessions and interviews; is responsible for arranging press coverage for Embassy events; organizes dialogues for American officers and their Panamanian colleagues; distributes texts and articles that explain the U.S. policies; and creates reports for the current Ambassador and for the Department of State on Panamanian media coverage.

The Cultural Office (CAO) promotes mutual understanding and cooperation by promoting a wide array of professional, institutional and personal links between United States and Panama. People from all backgrounds benefit from the cultural opportunities and exchanges offered by this office.
