USNS Comfort volunteers provide support to Proyecto GEMA's improvement of the Juan Antonio Henriquez's School

On Saturday, May 30, volunteers from the USNS Comfort, which is currently docked in Colon and providing as series of dental, medical and veterinary clinics, brought help to the Colon community through a work project at the Juan Antonio Henriquez School.  The group spent the day improving the outdoor play area by painting equipment and upgrading the basketball court.  Volunteers from the USNS Comfort were joined by volunteers from Motta International’s non-profit organization, Proyecto GEMA, which has been investing in improving public schools in Colon since 2001.
