English Language Specialist Dr. Paulette Dale in Panama
September 26 - October 31
Dr. Dale will participate in the Panama TESOL Conference September 26-28. Following this conference she will teach a course at the University of Panama until October 31.
Dr. Paulette Dale is a full professor/endowed teaching chair of Speech Communication/ Linguistics at Miami Dade Community College. She is an adjunct professor in the graduate program in Linguistics at Florida International University.
She is an internationally known author and consultant in the area of English Pronunciation and Speech Communication and is fluent in Spanish. Her published works include a plethora of articles, a pronunciation program written for Berlitz International, and five successful ESL texts published by Pearson Education including English Pronunciation for International Students, English Pronunciation for Spanish Speakers, English Pronunciation for Japanese Speakers, Speech Communication for International Students, Speech Communication Made Simple: A Multicultural Perspective. Dr. Dale’s pronunciation programs have been featured in the Miami Herald, the El Herald, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, and on radio and TV talk shows. She received her Ph.D. in Speech Pathology/ Linguistics from the University of Florida in 1980. She was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship in International Education and has conducted workshops in techniques of teaching English pronunciation for professionals and teachers world wide. She has made presentations at a variety of U.S. and international conferences including TESOL, Florida TESOL, Texas TESOL, MexTESOL, the American Speech Communication Association, and the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. She has conducted workshops for professionals in the former Soviet Union, mainland China, Mexico, Guatemala, and most recently Brazil. Dr. Dale also received recognition of her work on the floor of the U.S. Congress by the Honorable Carrie Meek as documented in the Congressional Record (May 20, 1999).
