Donations and Volunteer Work from US Coast Guard Hamilton Personnel

US Coast Guard Hamilton brought 25 volunteers to Curundu on February 3^rd to aid “Juntos Podemos”, a non-profit organization sponsored by the Crossroads Church.  The US Embassy added to their efforts, by donating much-needed office furniture and book shelves.  “Juntos Podemos”, or “Together We Can” has spent the past several months converting an old bakery into a community center serving high risk youth.  Currently Juntos Podemos offers academic programs which neighborhood children can attend in the summer and after school.  USCG Hamilton helped them clean and prepare an expanded space next door to their current setting; once complete it will house additional community programs, and possibly a school.
