The U.S. Army Band in Panama

The U.S. 300th Army Band completed their concert series in Panama with an excellent performance at the Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT) in Colon on March 9. The band, lead by Chief Warrant Officer Steven Groneberg, consists of U.S. Army reservists and is based in Los Angeles, California.

The band arrived in Panama for the March 8 inauguration ceremony of New Horizons 2005, that took place in La Mesa de Macaracas.

During their stay, the 300th Army Band offered free concerts in Chitre (March 1), Santiago (March 2), Panama City (March 6) and concluded with their concert in Colon. The MIT concert was a cornerstone event of the U.S. Embassy's America Days in Colon, a two-day series of events in Colon province. America Days in Colon, held March 9-10, was the inauguration of the Embassy's new initiative in the province, Enfoque Colon. For more information (in Spanish) go to Enfoque Colon webpage.
