USS Stockdale Put in a full day to benefit "En Busca de un Mañana"

20 members of the USS Stockdale put in a full-day of work to benefit En Busca de un Manana, a program established to help educate Panamanian students who have a history of difficulties in regular public school programs.  Fundacion ProEd supported their efforts by supplying all materials for the comrel, and a wonderful morning snack.  The crew had planned to complete painting in 2 classrooms, and thanks to an amazing effort, were able to complete painting of all of the classrooms!  The USS Stockdale also donated a pallet of toys which included roller blades, helmets, musical instruments and craft supplies.  Mariela Lord with the Veteran Spouses and Volunteer Friend Organization provided a wonderful Panamanian lunch for all participants, which included 10 students from the En Busca de un Manana program.  The USS Stockdale’s comrel project produces sutainable results, as Fundacion ProEd is committed to improving the physical surroundings of the school, and can now begin  offering support to the teaching staff through their “Teaching Teachers How to Teach” program.
