Members of the USS Simpson

The USS Simpson spent May 8^th helping out Fundacion Calicanto’s Escuela Familia in Casco Viejo.  Fundacion Calicanto, a local non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of residents in Casco Viejo through strategic and sustainable programming, has donated time-limited space to non-profit organizations at their Escuela Familia location.  Sailors from the USS Simpson spent the day clearing out and cleaning up additional spaces in this building.  Their work efforts were greatly appreciated as through their collaborative efforts they are able to accomplish in one day what would normally take the foundation one month to complete. They were able to enjoy magnificent views and local Panamanian lunch provided by Fundacion Calicanto.

Baseball equipment donation in Pedregal

Public Affairs Section donated a set of baseball equipment to the Lion's Club in Pedregal. The equipment will be shared across four children's baseball teams in their Pedregal league.   Members of the Lion’s Club and baseball teams enthusiastically received the equipment, and quickly put it to great use!
