Delay In The Delivery Of U.S. Civil Service Retirement Checks (Mar 30)
The Consular Section of the Embassy of the United States wishes to advise all U.S. Civil Service retirees and beneficiaries that, due to a delay in the shipment of the checks for April 2012 from the United States to Panama, the checks will be delivered to the Postal Center on Monday, April 2, 2012, for distribution to the post offices in the Republic of Panama.

U.S. and Panama Broaden Collaboration in Citizen Security (Mar 28)
The U.S. Embassy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Panamanian government, under the Central American Regional Security Initiative (CARSI), that will provide an additional $4 million for fiscal year 2012 in programs related to security in the region. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto C. Henríquez and the U.S. Ambassador to Panama, Phyllis Powers.

The ceremony also featured Davina Cole, director of the Language Unit of the Ministry of Education.
