Wheelchair Donation By Fundacion Pro-Impedidos

On September 3, 2003, Darcy Compton, People-to People Coordinator, US Embassy Panama, represented Ambassador Watt at a small ceremony where Lucas De Gracia received his wheelchair from Fundacion Pro-Impedidos who had received a donation of wheelchairs from The Wheelchair Foundation.

Ambassador Linda Watt met radio announcer Lucas De Gracia on her trip to the Darien in June, 2003. Upon her return to her office in Panama City, she received a letter from Lucas asking for her help in finding a wheelchair for him. The embassy was able to connect Lucas with the U.S. NGO The Wheelchair Foundation who was donating wheelchairs to various groups in Panama.

Also in attendance in the ceremony was Thomas Ford, President of the Panamanian Fundacion Pro-Impedidos.
