Tourist/Business Visas (B1/B2)

IMPORTANT NOTE: The consular officer bases his/her decisions on the interview with the applicant. Applicants are welcome to bring evidence of a job or other responsibilities in Panama. However, the officer may choose not to review such documentary evidence.

Documents that may be useful in support of a application for a B1/B2 tourist-business visa are:

  1. All employed persons: a recent job letter addressed to the Consular Section which states: length of time in job, position (permanent or Temporary) salary, and available vacation time.
  2. Salaried employees: The last social security receipt, "Ficha”, or for an employee of the Government of Panama, the last pay stub.
  3. Self-employed persons: Income tax declarations and receipts from the last three years.
  4. Retiree(s): The last pension check stub, or for retirees of the U.S. government must bring any document showing their yearly income or annuity.
  5. Dependents or minor children: The documents of the person on whom they depend (see numbers 1-4 above).
  6. Spouse who is not employed: the documents of the person on whom they depend (see numbers 1-4 above)(for spouses in general, it is beneficial for them to bring income of both).
  7. Panamanian students: last registration receipt from school or university and documents of the person on whom' they depend. (See numbers 1-4 above)
  8. Other documents that may support the application:  Letter from Banks where application has a checking or savings account; vehicle titles, title to property; expired passports that have previously issued U.S. visas.
